A new Recipe & a New Word (at least for me)

What happens when your daughter, a classics professor and great cook, makes you a stir fry? Here’s how it went:

“This is great!” I said. “How did you make it so quickly, though?”

“Canonically, one cuts everything first, and then one cooks everything at once. I couldn’t be bothered.”

 

Here’s what she did. She took whatever vegetables were lying around (in this case, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, and onions). As she went along chopping them, she threw them in a pan with a little canola oil. After the vegetables had sautéed for a few minutes, she added a cup water and a bottle of Trader Joe’s Thai Red Curry Sauce. She covered the pan for a couple of minutes until she was happy with the texture.

I’ve got to tell you, this was absolutely delicious. It would be great with brown rice or as part of a bowl or whatever. Very impressive. Canonically speaking, that is.
