“Quarantinis” – More Than Just Jokes & Weight Gain
A recent report about a study from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) shows that American adults, particularly women, have been drinking more alcohol during the pandemic. In fact, there’s been more than a 40% increase in binge drinking (>4 drinks in two hours) among women during this time.
Boy, do I ever get it – I don’t even like drinking, and I’m about to take up the sport myself. Seriously, though, please be careful. Excessive alcohol drinking is associated with injuries, poor decision-making, interpersonal violence, and increased depression and anxiety. The drinking that’s meant to ease stress is very possibly making it worse.
